An enthusiastic admirer of Ella Fitzgerald, Mariannick reinterprets songs from the classic jazz repertoire such as ‘Mack the Knife’ and ‘I can’t give you anything but love’ in a warm vibrant tribute to the great singer, accompanied by her trio.

Paris liberated, the young generation goes wild with excitement! Cabarets are overflowing. Onlookers, intellectuals, artists… they all gather up on the “Rive Gauche”, the left bank of the Seine. The neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés becomes a mecca for Parisian intellectual and cultural life and existentialism arises between the narrow walls of the "basements" and first meets with the American Jazz.
The project is built around the compositions of Gilberto Gil, the most famous Brazilian artist of his generation, best known for four decades of musical crossbreeding and co-founder of the important Tropicalia movement with Caetano Veloso.
Music was for Gil a way to bring people together regardless of cultural, political, or ethnicity differences.
Carried by Marc Campo’s incisive guitar riffs and enveloped by the velvety sound of Lionel Dandine’s organ, both counting among the greatest players of the National Jazz scene, Mariannick Saint-Ceran covers Nina Simone’s artistic legacy, breathing life into the Diva’s freedom of Blues.
